In der gesellschaftlichen Linken gibt es durchaus kontroverse Diskussionen zu der Frage, wo die Chancen für emanzipatorische Politik besser sind: innerhalb oder außerhalb der EU? Besonders aktuell ist diese Frage in Bezug auf Großbritannien, das sich nach Jahren der EU-Mitgliedschaft für den Brexit entschieden hat. Dabei geht es aus emanzipatorischer Sicht natürlich nicht um die Frage, was Theresa May / die Tories aus dem Brexit machen, sondern ob Corbyn seine politischen Vorstellungen nach einer Regierungsübernahme durch Labour wird umzusetzen können. Denn Corbyn hat nicht nur starke Gegner in der eigenen Partei (Blairisten). Auch das Kapital, insbesondere die mächtige Finanz"industrie" der City, wird alles tun um die fortschrittlichen Elemente seiner Politik zu verhindern.

The opportunities for emancipatory politics within and outside the EU is a controversial subject among the societal left. With regard to Brexit, despite considerable resistence also from within his own ranks, will Corbyn be able to implement his political vision in the event of election victory? From the point of view of our discussions regarding an emancipatory Europe Corbyns ideas are of particular relevance. Would his vision have greater opportunity within the EU? What are the experiences of other countries within and outside of the EU? Exploring the issues of peace, international trade and cooperation we will seek to elaborate on these questions.
