Concrete steps to change the real-economy and the society
In the EU we are confronted with two challenges: 1) globalisation and a German-dominated ordo-liberal policy based on monetarism and austerity and 2) a climate crisis in full swing. We’ll discuss concrete measures to get money for necessary investments and how these investments can achieve the best results for us in Europe and for the nature.
The the EU is dominated by the German industrial and export-oriented imperialistic centre. This hegemonic centre destroys the economies in the rest of Europe, the rest of the EU and especially in the Eurozone. A clever person once said: the Germans have evolved from a “Volk ohne Raum” to a “Volk ohne Exportüberschuss”. All governments the Germans elected in the last 20 years have pursued this beggar-thy-neighbor strategy. The result is not only high unemployment in the European periphery, but the enduring destruction of the economic basis of the peripheral nations. Like in the 1930s the mainstream left does not offer heterodox economic options for these horrendous problems, instead it follows the “Brüning’sche Sparpolitik”. And like in the 1930s the radical right offers supposedly some answers to this. The elections in Italy in the 1st half 2018 are an example for this. At the same time, we have crossed already three of the nine so called planetary boundaries (Phosphorous, Nitrogen and Genetic Diversity). Our current economic model has lost its legitimacy.
We will discuss how we can get the financial resources, despite Lisbon treaty & fiscal compact, to invest in a massive restructuring of our economies in favour of the many and our nature.
