Workshop: All for Health. One year to say no to the commodification of health
European year of struggle against the commodification of health
All over Europe, millions of people are experiencing a decrease in access to health care, a decrease in the quality of care, the closure and privatization of health services, the deterioration of working conditions for health workers, an increase in the price of medicines... while commercial operators active in the health sector are constantly increasing their profit margins. These policies have and will have catastrophic effects on people’s health!
During this event we would like to focus on how we can circumvert commercialization of health in Europe and highlight local, national and international struggles against for these privatization tendencies. The European Health Network will present the European campaign "All for Health. One year to say no to the commodification of health" in view of the European elections in May 2019, and is looking for new alliances with progressive coordinations, networks, organisations and collectifs in European Member States.
1) Europe is competent in health : The struggle against the marketization of health situates itself mostly on the national level, but also at the European level there are a series of things that influence health policies.
